Heartbreak Hill

Three thermal layers, lined pants, shorts, and a stocking cap could barely keep me warm for the first 20 minutes today. Man it was cold. colder than i've felt all week. cuts through each layer and hits your head, chest and arms... took it slow today. went to runnersworld.com/smartcoach and got a training regime for the QC distance classic comming up on may 13th. today was 7 miles easy, about a 11:30 pace. slow, i know. but there's no way I'd be able to go that far any faster and it was just the right speed. i felt great, despite the 20 degree cold. went out slow, losened up nicely, arms swing great, head up, knees going well. not much pain in them today. plus, i determined the best cd to listen to on a run: Metallica- Kill 'Em All. great thrash metal to keep your heart rate and mind awake! i think second would be some Rise Against and then the Cross Country Mix from the old days.

went down to the golf course, i think it's 20 ave (or 18th), down to 30th st, all the way to the end of augie (by the railroad tracks), up MY heartbreak hill on 38th street, to 22nd ave, to the school, around the school and down 42nd st and back home to 43rd street. Most likely around 6 miles. went out for 67.47 minutes. awesome. just awesome. what a way to start my weekend. Now... who knows what's in tap the rest of the day.

Rest/ XT tomorrow. Happy Easter !
