been taking it more seriously lately... it's a great feeling being sort of a lone-duck amongst those around me. being called crazy, or, youre nuts, is actually kind of exhilerating. with so many runners out there its a different feeling being the only one... sometimes. i look ahead to the fall and next year and love what i see. its what gets me out there. even the last two days in the 30 degree cold and wind. wow. i haven't felt such cold in a long time. not even in the winter. the cold air rips through my hat and two layers and even through my thermal skin tight layer... was in the zone for awhile the last two days but yesterday was different. legs were tight. knees even tighter. some strides and weights will help. feet turning too much and not staying forward. knee strap is helping a lot, but weird mechanics on the right leg in overcompensating. keep focusing on proper form.
wish i had a small camera to take pictures along the way. the lovely roads of rock island. yippie. sometimes wish i was out west in oregon or colorado or out east in the carolinas for some real scenery. real running. probably have no excuse not to be out there. i have it good here and love it. pvgxc gets me out there. they're my mountains and trails and get me out there. where's the QC rock cut state park? need to do more exploring.
Monday: off- at ISU. beautiful day and I didn't run. need to get this laziness bug OUT
Tuesday: 2.5 miles, legs stiff. no more 2 days off. CLAPTON TONIGHT!
Wednesday: Clapton rocked my socks off! Ran around augie, 3.6 miles. good, very hilly route, for practice 5K's. COLD!
Thursday: COLD! even colder than Wed and there was less wind! 2.8 miles. not too bad, little stiff. incorporate stretching throughout day.
Friday: Did a "Smart Coach" on RunnersWorld.com and made a plan for Steve's Tap 5K and another for QC Distance Classic 5K. Good to see SPEEDWORK incorporated. This will help I know it! Plus, it gets me on the track with the girls again. I miss them.
Taking the day off. Long run tomorrow
Saturday- long run
Sunday: Easter. 60 minute walk/XT.
